CaseWeave was started in the middle of a divorce. Our founder had a good attorney. That wasn't the problem. The problem was everything around the attorney: three hundred screenshots on a phone with no order to them. An inbox that — to this day — holds court documents that were never opened. No structure, no plan for getting information to the person defending him.
So it went the way it goes for most people: every so often he'd force himself to sit down for an hour and blast as many emails of random information as he could. Then hope. Hope the right detail was in there somewhere. Hope somebody found it. Hope the judge believed him — because without the tools to document what happened, belief was all there was.
Parts of the platform catch people off guard. A tone checker. A geolocation check-in. A journal. The answer to "why is this here?" is always the same:
"If it's part of the platform, it's because I could've used it."
